John Rodda Memorial Youth Scholarship Program
The NSA John Rodda Memorial Youth Scholarship Program offers an award of $1,000 to children of active duty law enforcement and fire service personnel in Clark County, Nevada who are graduating from high school and going on to further their education. The first place winner from the NSA program is automatically considered for additional awards from the Electronic Security Association’s (ESA) national Youth Scholarship Program. These programs reward students who have excelled academically and are active in community service and extracurricular activities at their school.
The Nevada Security Association 2024 Youth Scholarship Program is now CLOSED. Please check back here in January 2025 for information about the 2025 NSA Youth Scholarship Program.
The NSA Youth Scholarship was re-named the NSA John Rodda Memorial Scholarship in 2016 to honor the late John Rodda, NSA Associate Director 2013-2014. The re-naming of our annual Scholarship Program is to honor John’s enthusiasm for and dedication to the security industry, this association and in particular to the Youth Scholarship program.
“I have now attended all of your ISC meetings from when you proposed and then founded NSA. It has been a great evolution to witness. I can tell you, that as a father, the scholarship presentations are my favorite highlight as we see just how many truly gifted young people we have in this country.” – Ron Walters, Past Director of SIAC (Security Industry Alarm Coalition)
“… as a Co-Founder of the ESA Youth Scholarship Fund, I was proud to attend the Nevada Fire and Burglar Alarm Association’s first Scholarship Awards presentation in Las Vegas during the ISC. You did a wonderful job in your organization of the presentation not to mention the wonderful choice of the two recipients, Karli and Skylar. The pictures in the “CAA Mirror” were outstanding! Congratulations to Howard Wulforst, John Perdichizzi and the entire Nevada Association on your achievement of this milestone which furthers our industry’s commitment to education.” – Donna Soloway, National Youth Scholarship founder
